What is 'somatic'?

The somatic-based approach to movements is when you do what feels good for your body.
Somatic yoga is intended to help you become more CONNECTED, or led by how you feel in your body, using slow movements and MINIMAL ALIGNMENT cues.
This approach to physical practice can soothe and RESTORE an overloaded nervous system and help retune you into your whole self.
Soma means "body" in Greek. The term somatic means "relating to the body".
Somatics is a field of study, a practice in the realms of bodywork, movement and psychotherapy.
In somatics, you use mindfulness to bring awareness and understanding to where and how you store tension, trauma, and joy in your body.
This can be the first step toward releasing old memories and patterns, balancing your body and mind, getting in touch with GUT FEELINGS and INTUITIONS and ultimately moving toward a felt sense of being empowered and whole.

THE FLOW STATE
"Being in the flow"...

Positive psychologists J. Nakamura and M. Csíkszentmihályi said...

"A feeling where, under the right conditions, you become fully immersed in whatever you are doing.
There's this focus that, once it becomes intense, leads to a sense of ECSTASY, a sense of clarity."
